Michael Jackson: The Facts Are He Was An Icon

michael_jackson_casanova_in_concertToday at 6:30pm, CNN has announced that Michael Jackson is dead. Apparently, he was found not breathing in his home and was rushed to the hospital. He suffered a heart attack. What I find astonishing is that people are commenting on this tragedy with such vile and heartless words.  So I want to address this issue of him molesting children. A lot of people just look at the news and see that a man is charged and presume that he is guilty. It is a shame in this society that you are guilty even when proven innocent. So let’s take a look at his accusers.

Gavin Arvizo: This teenage boy accused Michael Jackson of molestation. During the trial, it was discovered that they had attempted to extort other people of money in their past (George Lopez).  That coupled with what the family had said prior to the trial about Michael’s relationship helped to clear him. Oh and the fact that there wasn’t any forensic evidence to support that the boy had been molested.

In response to the Bashir documentary, Jackson’s staff had a “rebuttal video” produced, called ‘Take Two’, and presented by Maury Povich. The production included an interview with the family, filmed on the night of February 19, 2003 in Moslehi’s home. This part of the footage was not aired because the videographer Hamid Moslehi refused to hand it over, because of a financial dispute with Jackson. It was found by police in a search of Moslehi’s home in November 2003, and it showed the accuser’s family praising Jackson. Gavin insisted no molestation had occurred and that Jackson was “innocent”. Gavin, his sister Daveline, brother Star and mother Janet were “upfront” and said that inappropriate behavior had “absolutely not occurred” while also calling him a father figure. They also insisted that they slept in Jackson’s bed although Jackson himself always slept on the floor. To further the rebuttal Janet Arvizo issued the statement:

“The relationship that Michael has with my children is beautiful, loving, father-son and daughter one. To my children and me, Michael is part of the family.” She also stated that she was thinking of taking legal action against Martin Bashir.

Couple these statements with the fact that BEFORE the mother went to the police she went to the attorney who had represented Jordie Chandler. Does this sound like a lady who is concerned about child abuse or a lady who had researched M.J’s first case and wanted a large jackpot?

Now let’s take a look at the Arvizo family. In 1993, Janet and her children attempted to return some stolen goods from JC Penny and were detained. Janet resisted arrest. She then proceeded to attempt to sue the security officers at JC Penney claiming that she had been brutally beaten and that her breast had been fondled for over 7 mins. When interviewed by the JC Penney psychologist, here is what he found. He found her to have rehearsed her children into supporting her story and to be both “delusional” and “depressed.” Her phyciatrist also came to this same conclusion.

She was also convicted of welfare fraud.

The father of Galvin was convicted on spousal abuse charges against the mother Janet in 2002. In 2003, he was convicted of child cruelty. In 2004, he stated that his children do whatever Janet wants and that she rehearses them to say whatever she wants. He also attempted to extort money from George Lopez stating that he would tell the police that George has stole 300 from the house if he didn’t give them money.

As witness after witness was brought there was a recurring theme. They had all profited off of Michael’s demise or were criminals. The maid who stated her son had been molested: stole a painting of Elvis from Michael and her son sold his story to hard copy for $150,000. The bodyguard who stated he witnessed the allegations of prior children: was arrested in 2003, 2004, and 2005 for armed robbery.

Then there was the 1993 case with Jordie Chandler. I will not rehash the whole story but here is what I find interesting. Evan Chandler was recorded threatening Michael Jackson “I will destroy your career” is what he said. Then there was the fact that he was trying to negotiate settlement terms (monetary) from Jackson. It wasn’t until after he was unsuccessful that he went to the police.

Here is an excerpt of Evan Chandler’s phone conversation:

There was no reason why he [Jackson] had to stop calling me…I picked the nastiest son of a bitch I could find [Evan Chandler’s lawyer, Barry Rothman], all he wants to do is get this out in the public as fast as he can, as big as he can and humiliate as many people as he can. He’s nasty, he’s mean, he’s smart and he’s hungry for publicity. Everything’s going to a certain plan that isn’t just mine. Once I make that phone call, this guy is going to destroy everybody in sight in any devious, nasty, cruel way that he can do it. I’ve given him full authority to do that. Jackson is an evil guy, he is worse than that and I have the evidence to prove it. If I go through with this, I win big-time. There’s no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever…Michael’s career will be over.

-Evan Chandler

I am so tired of people calling this man a pedophile.  To all the naysayers, I say isn’t it possible that these 2 families were looking for a financial gain? Is it a coincidence that Evan Chandler tried to extort money from Jackson before he called the police? Is it a coincidence that every family has attempted to gain money from him? Even his sister who hadn’t had contact with him in years tried to get 1/2 million to say he was a pedophile. So is it a leap that these families and people who have criminal records, are thieves, liars, poor, and psychologically damaged would try to profit on his fondness of childhood?

In this country we are innocent until proven guilty. He was PROVEN INNOCENT.

So before you judge this great great man, please check your facts. Do your research. He settled because he wanted the circus to end. He wanted to live a normal life. He wanted it all to go away. He wanted to live in peace. This is why when the 2nd charge arose. He realize that the only way to clear his name was to fight.  He fought it. He fought it to the brink of bankruptcy in hopes to clear his name. He was found NOT GUILTY. He is NOT GUILTY… the only thing he is guilty of is having heart of gold and a voice that changed the world.

He has the top selling album in the WORLD. Not the Beatles, Elvis, or Madonna. Michael. He sold over 100 million records with his album Thriller. No other artist has sold more albums for a single record than him. His Thriller blew everyone off the map.

Here is a list of his awards: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Michael_Jackson%27s_awards

Please do not tarnish this great man’s name in his death. It was already erroneously tarnished during his life.

I leave you with song… Listen to it and make a change. Tomorrow is not promised…

    That was so nice!

And im glad that there’s a space to honor MJ… and not to talk crap about him… Im tired of people saying things like: “boys are save now” what stupid comment is that??… The truth is that the world is full of ignorants that even when he was proven innocent, people will still think that he was guilty, and like you said Nicole, his only guilt was having a beautiful heart.!

Rest in peace King of Pop… you may be gone, but never forgotten 😦

I am happy that this article was written. I am so saddened by the comments that people continue to make. I love children and I would be the first to believe them when they have been abused any kind of way but I know in my heart of hearts that Michael Jackson never abused these children. It is unfortunate that someone would take some one’s life and deliberately rip it to shreds for personal gain. I know the bible addresses this but I don’t know where. It almost reminds me of what Jesus went through but he did what he did for the love of us and I think Michael Jackson did the same. I will truely miss Michael. I felt as though he was a part of my family and I grew up with every record/cd he and his brothers ever made.
